Celebrate your wedding in Autumn against the warm glow of romantic reds and spicy orange!
Are you planning a September or October wedding, and looking for more ideas, then step this way;
Fireworks, rich colours, log fires, the autumn is a fantastic time for a wedding. Autumn is all about colour, from warm reds, burnt oranges, to rich berry shades, the orange of pumpkins to the glossy deep browns of conkers. Add a touch of bronze or gold to the mix and you have yourself a luxurious colour scheme! <img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-961" src="http://www.stemsations.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/pumpkins-300×203.jpg" alt="pumkins weddings" width="300" height="203" srcset="http://www.stemsations.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/pumpkins-300×203.jpg 300w, http://www.stemsations.co look these up.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/pumpkins-443×300.jpg 443w, http://www.stemsations.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/pumpkins.jpg 636w” sizes=”(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px” />
What are the main colour combinations for Autumn 2015/16?
September offers a wonderful choice of colours of burgundy, deep red, purple and orange, and as autumn starts the flower market is bursting with fruits, berries and ornamental vegetables, such as red crab apples, rose hips, ornamental gourds and stems of chilli’s and peppers.
Here is just a selection of my work in these rich colours that look so lovely for an autumn wedding. Please click on each photo to view.
What foliage would you recommend?
Oak leaves in rusty reds, rustic twigs and trailing ivy would all look perfect in an autumnual bridal bouquet, and also consider Hypercium berries, these come in a wide range of colours, from deep red, bright red, lime green, peach, orange and cream shades, and they are perfect to incorporate into bouquets and table decorations to add interest and texture.
But autumn isn’t all about orange and browns, there are other great combinations, from soft apricot nude shades, aubergine and blackberry shades, and you can also add cerise and lime to the mix!
And as the summer months turn into autumn, English Hydrangea start to change colour from soft pink and blues to more dusky vintage shades. Which is perfect for the vintage theme that is still popular with brides this year.
What might we use as table decorations?
Flower decorations add the finishing touch to a wedding day and the guest table arrangement should complement the bride’s flowers and theme.
Or, why not fill seasonal pumpkins, mini squashes and fruit with flowers?
Small ornamental gourds come in a variety of colours, shapes and sizes and can be hollowed out to include a tea light – casting a lovely warm glow over the table.
Or why not have your table numbers carved into mini pumpkins!
